Services:
Individuals enrolled in the program undergo an assessment of their strengths and weaknesses, needs, job readiness, interests, and degree of motivation. Staff then supplies the resources to help meet their needs and/or interests, and process them for placement into employment and/or educational/vocational training. Referrals are open to offenders and ex-offenders. (1972)
COALITION EMPLOYMENT SERVICES
The Prisoner Re-Entry Program seeks to strengthen the City of Hartford by providing offenders with an employment centered program that incorporates mentoring, job training, and other comprehensive transitional services. Project PREP will ensure connections are made for services and delivered to offenders to achieve long-term and meaningful employment, reduction of criminal involvement, and other wrap around support services as needed. Provides a transitional residence to clients released from DOC institutions on Community Release status. Clients learn about risk reduction, relapse prevention, and financial & life skills, while rejoining the workforce as part of their release stipulations. Clients pay rent and enter a savings program in order to more fully understand their responsibilities.
