Family Programming

Project FREE collaborates with the Resettlement Program and strives to impact recidivism by assisting incarcerated fathers to reconnect with their children, establishing positive goals and enabling them to achieve and maintain a healthy, crime-free lifestyle.

Services

  • Long-term case management services to individuals three to six months prior to release from prison, and follow-up services in the community for up to six months.
  • Thorough needs assessment
  • Access and referrals to community services, including treatment, counseling, employment, education and housing
  • Assistance in obtaining such basic needs as food, clothing, shelter, bus tokens and toiletries
  • Developing and encouraging goal-setting skills
  • Three Family Fun days a year
  • Videotaping fathers reading to their children
  • Support for the client and their family
  • Monthly support groups in the community
